Position Overview:

The Fire Alarm Technician plays a crucial role in delivering high-quality customer service through the inspection, installation, repair, and replacement of fire alarm systems. This position also involves conducting preventive maintenance on various manufacturers' equipment. Ideal candidates will be self-driven, possess excellent customer service skills, and demonstrate strong communication abilities.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct thorough testing of all equipment post-installation or repair to ensure optimal system performance.
  • Diagnose and troubleshoot issues related to ground faults, shorts, and open circuits.
  • Adhere to the Company's safety protocols, prioritizing the safety of oneself and others.
  • Maintain regular communication with Project Managers and Schedule Coordinators regarding project status and any delays.
  • Train entry-level staff on company procedures and installation techniques.
  • Ensure all work complies with NFPA and company standards, employing quality inspection and installation practices.
  • Collaborate with project teams to ensure complete job closeout and client turnover, facilitating accurate billing.

Qualifications:

  • Possession of an Oregon LEA License or higher.
  • A minimum of 2 years of experience as a Fire Alarm Technician is preferred.
  • Familiarity with NFPA codes is advantageous.
  • NICET I Certification to be obtained within 2 years.
  • NICET II Certification to be achieved within 2 years following NICET I.
  • Proficient understanding of sprinkler controls, alarm panels, and essential components.
  • Willingness to perform testing and maintenance tasks.
  • Ability to complete necessary documentation with or without reasonable accommodation.
  • Proficient in using mobile devices for recording and transmitting inspection data.
  • Prepared to address inspection deficiencies and coordinate necessary services.
  • Ability to read and write in English clearly.
  • Capable of presenting information and responding to inquiries from various stakeholders.
  • Valid driver's license in accordance with company policy.
  • Willingness to undergo a post-offer drug test, background check, and reference verification.

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs with or without reasonable accommodation.
  • Regularly engage in bending, reaching, climbing, and walking activities.
