Job Summary

The Assistant Director of Development will play a key role in leading the fundraising efforts of the Bullard Center for Environmental and Climate Justice at Texas Southern University. This position will be responsible for developing and implementing comprehensive fundraising strategies, building relationships with donors, and managing the annual fund to support the Center's strategic and operational goals.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement fund development strategies to engage and motivate donors
  • Build and maintain relationships with key stakeholders, including donors, community leaders, and government officials
  • Manage the annual fund, including development events, government and private foundation grants, and annual giving campaigns
  • Oversee the fundraising database and tracking system
  • Supervise and collaborate with other fundraising staff
  • Develop and implement a comprehensive annual fund development plan
  • Assist the Executive Director in producing reports that evaluate annual fund strategies and progress
Requirements
  • Master's degree from an accredited four-year college or university in a field related to the work of the Center
  • Four to six years of related leadership experience in non-profit organizations
  • Strong organizational, interpersonal, and communication skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Valid Texas Driver's License preferred
