POSITION OVERVIEW

We are seeking a Traveling Electrical Safety Lead to enhance our safety initiatives.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Deliver technical safety and health guidance to both production and corporate teams
  • Facilitate safety training for new hires across diverse locations and conditions
  • Travel is a requirement for this role, currently at 100%
  • Engage in extensive job site inspections, climbing, and equipment demonstrations
  • Draft safety and health policies and programs
  • Assess and identify safety training needs, developing and coordinating relevant programs
  • Establish annual safety and health objectives for the company
  • Participate in reviews of new products and processes, including hazard analyses and operator training
  • Assist in implementing engineering controls to mitigate safety and health risks
  • Support personnel in selecting and training on appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE)
  • Oversee PPE inventory management nationwide
  • Maintain safety records using a database and traditional documentation methods
  • Curate the corporate safety library, including videos, regulations, and reference materials
  • Promote safety awareness through internal communications and training programs
  • Engage in various safety committees
  • Review operational procedures and provide insights on safety considerations
  • Stay informed on federal and state safety regulations and monitor changes
  • Provide technical support to ensure compliance with occupational safety regulations
  • Notify staff of regulatory changes and ensure compliance by effective dates
  • Conduct on-site safety audits
  • Facilitate safety meetings in various formats with diverse groups
  • Monitor incidents and manage post-incident reporting
  • Provide ongoing safety support to field employees
  • Review incident investigation reports and follow up as necessary

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor's degree in safety science, engineering, or industrial hygiene, or equivalent experience
  • At least 5 years of experience in commercial electrical settings
  • Strong understanding of federal and state safety regulations, including OSHA
  • Willingness to travel 100% of the time
  • OSHA 500 certification required
  • Experience with construction aerial, industrial, and earth-moving equipment is preferred
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to prioritize and manage tasks effectively
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite
