Job Summary

The Environmental Sustainability, Health & Safety Specialist will implement HSE processes according to ISO 14001 and ISO 45001 standards, identifying opportunities for improvement and ensuring compliance with legal and organizational requirements.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Implement HSE processes as per ISO 14001 and ISO 45001 standards.
  • Identify and promote opportunities for new HSE initiatives.
  • Facilitate the implementation of HSE processes with internal stakeholder teams.
  • Conduct internal HSE audits, prepare reports, and monitor closure of findings.
  • Coordinate HSE activities at a regional level in collaboration with stakeholders.
  • Perform HSE inspections, identify gaps, and ensure timely resolution.
  • Monitor legal compliance and facilitate adherence to applicable regulations.
  • Collect and report environmental and health & safety performance data, ensuring accuracy and completeness.
  • Analyze regional HSE performance data and benchmark to drive improvements.
  • Collaborate with the client corporate team to align initiatives with client processes.
  • Manage environmental and OHS databases, recording and monitoring data.
  • Identify and report local carbon footprint from business activities annually.
Requirements:
  • Graduate in Environment and/or Health and Safety (Master's degree preferred).
  • 4-7 years of relevant experience in HSE.
  • Strong English communication skills (written & verbal).
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Exposure to Environmental Sustainability initiatives and reporting obligations.
  • Understanding of sustainability concepts (e.g., SDGs, TCFD).
  • Hands-on experience in identifying and mitigating environmental and H&S concerns.
  • Familiarity with legal requirements at country/geography level.
Certifications:
  • Certified Lead Auditor - ISO 14001 and/or ISO 45001 (formerly OHSAS 18001) preferred.
  • NEBOSH/CSP or equivalent certification is a plus.
Additional Attributes:
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent organizational and planning skills.
  • Proactive, self-motivated, flexible, and adaptive.
  • Ability to multitask and make quick decisions.
  • Willingness to travel within North America.
  • Available for emergency support and outside regular business hours when needed.
