The Environmental Sustainability, Health & Safety Specialist will implement HSE processes according to ISO 14001 and ISO 45001 standards, identifying opportunities for improvement and ensuring compliance with legal and organizational requirements.
Key Responsibilities:- Implement HSE processes as per ISO 14001 and ISO 45001 standards.
- Identify and promote opportunities for new HSE initiatives.
- Facilitate the implementation of HSE processes with internal stakeholder teams.
- Conduct internal HSE audits, prepare reports, and monitor closure of findings.
- Coordinate HSE activities at a regional level in collaboration with stakeholders.
- Perform HSE inspections, identify gaps, and ensure timely resolution.
- Monitor legal compliance and facilitate adherence to applicable regulations.
- Collect and report environmental and health & safety performance data, ensuring accuracy and completeness.
- Analyze regional HSE performance data and benchmark to drive improvements.
- Collaborate with the client corporate team to align initiatives with client processes.
- Manage environmental and OHS databases, recording and monitoring data.
- Identify and report local carbon footprint from business activities annually.
- Graduate in Environment and/or Health and Safety (Master's degree preferred).
- 4-7 years of relevant experience in HSE.
- Strong English communication skills (written & verbal).
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
- Exposure to Environmental Sustainability initiatives and reporting obligations.
- Understanding of sustainability concepts (e.g., SDGs, TCFD).
- Hands-on experience in identifying and mitigating environmental and H&S concerns.
- Familiarity with legal requirements at country/geography level.
- Certified Lead Auditor - ISO 14001 and/or ISO 45001 (formerly OHSAS 18001) preferred.
- NEBOSH/CSP or equivalent certification is a plus.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent organizational and planning skills.
- Proactive, self-motivated, flexible, and adaptive.
- Ability to multitask and make quick decisions.
- Willingness to travel within North America.
- Available for emergency support and outside regular business hours when needed.
- Experience managing contractors and key suppliers.
