About this role

We are seeking an experienced Electrical Engineer to join our Sustainability Services team, supporting decarbonization efforts at NORESCO. As a key member of our team, you will play a critical role in informing strategic decisions and developing recommendations that align with our client's electrification and decarbonization goals.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement technical electrical-focused solutions, such as renewable energy, Photovoltaic (PV), Battery Energy Storage System (BESS), Microgrids, and Electric Vehicle (EV) infrastructure, based on data-driven assessments.
  • Lead the development of building electrification, resilience, and renewable energy projects, performing tasks including site evaluations, component selection, and system design.
  • Manage multiple projects in accordance with project contracts, schedules, budgets, scopes of work, and design specifications.
  • Foster effective business relationships with clients and internal teams, attending trade meetings and industry events to create and enhance business relationships.
  • Perform research and maintain a pulse on the industry, evaluating and recommending new and innovative technologies.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering or related field.
  • 7+ years' combined project engineering/project management experience with electrical and/or renewable engineering tasks.
  • Relevant engineering experience performing tasks including evaluating electrification opportunities, identifying renewable energy opportunities, and performing on-site surveys.
  • Experience creating conceptual designs and/or electrical single-line diagrams.
  • Proven construction management experience at a commercial scale.
  • Extensive knowledge of distributed energy resources, grid interactivity, demand response, building electrification, and climate policies.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering from an ABET-accredited college or university.
  • AEE Certified Renewable Energy Professional – REP or SEI solar professional certification.
  • Certified Energy Manager (CEM) certification.
  • Professional Engineer's registration (or EIT with path to obtaining one).
  • Experience with system energy modeling software.
  • Proficiency in Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
