Key Responsibilities
  • Assume responsibility for the accurate and timely completion of assigned accounting functions.
  • Assist in the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements and reports for multiple legal entities.

  • Prepare and post General Ledger entries and reconcile GL's.
  • Perform accounts payable functions, including processing invoices.
  • Assist with the month-end closing process.
  • Complete accounting functions in accordance with established policies and procedures.
  • Assume responsibility for effectively researching, tracking, and resolving accounting problems and discrepancies.
  • Assist with the preparation of the NCUA Quarterly Call Report.
  • Evaluate established policies and procedures, and create, update, or modify them as necessary.
  • Assume responsibility for establishing and maintaining effective communication and coordination with members, area personnel, and management.
Performance Measurements
  • Accounting documents, records, and reports are accurate, current, and timely.
  • Accounting errors or discrepancies are promptly discovered and resolved.
  • Interaction with members and co-workers is courteous and professional.
  • Good communication and coordination exists with Credit Union personnel.
  • Accounting functions are completed in accordance with established standards, policies, and procedures.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's Degree in Accounting or commensurate work experience in a financial institution preferred.
  • Knowledge of basic accounting concepts and procedures, including account reconciliation.
  • Knowledge of related computer applications.
Requirements
  • One to two years of previous accounting experience preferred.
  • Well-organized and detail-oriented.
  • Ability to multitask in a fast-paced work environment.
  • Good math skills.
  • Cooperative and willing to assist others.
  • Intermediate to advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office Software products (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook) required.
Physical and Mental Demands
  • Finger dexterity and average visual abilities.
  • Average hearing and ability to communicate distinctly.
  • Sedentary work; sitting most of the time.
