Accounts Payable Specialist Job Description

Plascon Group is seeking an experienced Accounts Payable Specialist to join our team. As an Accounts Payable Specialist, you will be responsible for compiling, classifying, recording, verifying, and maintaining data and payments to accounts payable.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Review and verify invoices and check requests.
  • Sort, code, and match invoices.
  • Enter and upload invoices into the system.
  • Assist with preparation and processing of electronic transfers and payments.
  • Assist with payroll preparation.
  • Prepare and perform check runs.
  • Post transactions to journals, ledgers, and other records.
  • Reconcile accounts payable transactions.
  • Monitor accounts to ensure payments are up to date.
  • Research and resolve invoice discrepancies and issues.
  • Maintain vendor files.
  • Correspond with vendors and respond to inquiries.
  • Assist with month-end closing.
  • Provide supporting documentation for audits.
  • Audit freight bills.
  • Prepare daily and weekly cash deposits and reporting.
  • Assist with Sales Tax return preparation.
  • Assist with related special projects as needed.
Requirements:
  • High School Diploma required.
  • Experience in a manufacturing facility a plus.
  • Payroll experience a plus.
  • 1 Year of Accounts Payable experience required.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is occasionally exposed to heat in the summer months if the need arises to enter the films production area.

The noise level in the work environment is usually very quiet.
