Job Summary

We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Automotive Warranty Claims Specialist to join our team at Serra Traverse City. In this role, you will be responsible for preparing, recording, and submitting warranty claims to the factory and/or distributor, as well as reconciling them accordingly.

Key Responsibilities
  • Process warranty claims in a timely manner for each franchise or distributor
  • Verify criteria required by the factory or distributor
  • Reconcile all warranty receivables with payments through the appropriate accounting schedule
  • Post credits on the computer system
  • Resubmit rejected claims promptly or receive authorization to write them off
  • Follow up on payment of outstanding claims
  • Track warranty parts by tagging with repair order number, date of replacement, and date on which part may be disposed of
  • Arrange for parts to be shipped to the factory or distributor, or to be scrapped
  • File and maintain all service records as required by the warrantor
  • Stay informed of all factory recalls and bulletins
  • Assist with body shop warranty claims as needed
  • Assist with cashier and telephone duties as needed
  • Perform other duties as assigned
Requirements
  • A valid driver's license
  • Excellent communication, organizational, and time management skills
  • Advanced computer software skills
  • Experience using general office equipment (i.e., computers, iPad, copier, etc.)
  • Ability to sit or stand for prolonged periods of time
  • Ability to perform repetitive data entry tasks, manual dexterity
  • Possess the ability to multitask
  • Professional, well-groomed personal appearance
  • Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, and commissions
  • Ability to apply common sense understanding, interpret, and carry out a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or form
  • Ability to deal with standardized situations with only occasional or no variables
  • Associate's degree (A.A.) or equivalent from a two-year college or technical school; or six months to one year related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience
