Financial Services Representative

The Financial Services Representative will play a crucial role in providing exceptional member experience by offering personalized solutions, creating memorable interactions, and exceeding member expectations. This position requires a strong understanding of financial products and services, as well as excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide personalized solutions to members, creating memorable interactions and exceeding member expectations.
- Build and foster relationships with current and potential members to increase their financial well-being.
- Exhibit adept recognition and adjustment to member needs, employing active listening techniques to effectively de-escalate member concerns.
- Maintain and balance assigned cash drawer daily, following operational procedures and cash limits.
- Accurately process member transaction requests and respond to member inquiries via various channels in a timely manner.
- Provide lobby support and maintain a strong knowledge of products and services available to Civic members, including current promotions.
- Assist with in-person opening of deposit and loan accounts, ensuring all information is received timely and accurately processed.
- Explain loan programs to members, evaluate their needs, and recommend loan options.
- Participate in beta-testing for possible workflow and process improvement, providing feedback to internal/external resources as needed.
- Educate members on digital solutions, providing self-service alternatives to manage finances at their convenience.
- Participate in required meetings and trainings, promoting a positive team environment and sharing knowledge of member feedback and effective practices.
- Collaborate with internal departments to provide a closed-loop experience for member requests.
- Comply with regulation, policies, procedure, and operational guidelines, proactively assessing and mitigating operational risks.
Requirements
- Minimum 1-3 years of banking/member service experience.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Excellent verbal, written, telephone, and interpersonal communication skills.
- Demonstrated strong customer service skills.
- Notary Public in North Carolina, or ability to achieve in the first 6 months of employment.
- PC proficient, including Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access, Outlook) and the Internet.
- Ability to function in a Consumer business office environment and utilize standard office equipment.
- Ability to lift a minimum of 25 lbs.
- Travel required on occasion.
Preferred Qualifications
- Credit Union member service experience.
- Knowledge of financial products and services, mobile and on-line banking a plus.
