We are seeking a compassionate and reliable Respite Provider to join our team at Lutheran Services in Iowa. As a Respite Provider, you will have the opportunity to make a meaningful difference in the lives of local families by providing respite care services in Des Moines and surrounding areas.

About the Role

This is a part-time position, with up to 29 hours per week available. As a Respite Provider, you will be responsible for providing care and support to individuals with disabilities in their own homes. Your role will involve providing a break for the parent or primary caregiver, allowing them to rest and recharge.

Responsibilities

  • Provide care and support to individuals with disabilities in their own homes
  • Assist with daily living tasks, such as bathing, dressing, and meal preparation
  • Engage in activities that promote socialization and stimulation
  • Communicate effectively with clients, families, and other stakeholders

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent required
  • Experience working with individuals with disabilities preferred
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
