Our Services for Individuals with Disabilities division is on the lookout for committed and empathetic caregivers to fill full-time or part-time roles (24-29 hours/week) as Nighttime Support Specialists. The individuals we support are striving for enhanced confidence and independence, and it is our honor to assist them in achieving their goals each day.

This role operates during the overnight hours (10:30 p.m. to 6:30 a.m.) and requires flexibility to work some weekends. There is also the possibility of additional hours as they become available, should you desire.


Our Mission

As one of Iowa's most respected human services organizations, Lutheran Services in Iowa has a rich history of serving children, adults, and families for over 150 years. Our Services for Individuals with Disabilities provide comprehensive support tailored to individuals throughout the state, ranging from occasional respite care to 24/7 assistance in shared living environments or personalized care through our hourly supported community living (SCL) program. Your contributions can significantly enhance the lives of the individuals we serve.


Key Responsibilities

Nighttime Support Specialists are responsible for offering assistance and support to individuals with disabilities and mental health needs in their residences during the overnight hours. While all individuals are asleep, Nighttime Support Specialists may also rest in a designated area of the home.


Qualifications

Ideal candidates will possess a high school diploma or GED. While experience in Supported Community Living or working with individuals with disabilities is advantageous, it is not a strict requirement.
