ROLE OVERVIEW:

As an Assistant to the Manager, you will work closely with the Residential Manager to promote the health and well-being of all Individuals in our care. Your responsibilities will include managing daily operations to ensure adherence to Friendship Community policies and state regulations.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

Foster a positive atmosphere that promotes service excellence towards Individuals, Team Members, families, and the public.

Program Management:

  • Provide insights to enhance systems and support within the home.
  • Encourage Individuals to engage in a variety of social, recreational, and spiritual activities.
  • Assist in scheduling Direct Support Professional shifts and cover open shifts as necessary.
  • Oversee program receipts and essential documentation.
  • Conduct fire safety drills and maintain accurate records.
  • Stay informed with daily case notes.
  • Ensure effective communication with day services and family members.
  • Offer guidance and training for Direct Support Professionals.
  • Support with medical appointments and related paperwork.

Administrative Responsibilities:

  • Manage filing tasks efficiently.
  • Process incoming mail for the home.
  • Update the Team contact list regularly.
  • Address maintenance requests as needed.
  • Keep the communication log current.
  • Track training hours for Team Members.
  • Complete physical site/lift equipment checklists.
  • Maintain occupancy data spreadsheets.

Emergency Management:

  • Promptly report all incidents in accordance with procedures.
  • Manage emergencies within the home and with Individuals during shifts.

WORK SCHEDULE:

This full-time position primarily involves administrative and program management duties. You will also be expected to work 10-12 hours per week in direct care shifts, with additional hours for emergencies, appointments, and open shifts.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:

A minimum of 1-year experience in a residential setting with individuals with Intellectual and Developmental Disabilities (IDD). Previous leadership experience is advantageous. Strong communication and computer skills are essential. Candidates must be dependable, positive, and able to work collaboratively within a team.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS AND WORK ENVIRONMENT:

This role requires effective communication, manual dexterity, and occasional lifting. The work environment is moderate in noise level.
