Key Responsibilities
  • Obtain and document patient vital signs, including temperature, blood pressure, weight, BMI, respirations, and pulse.
  • Collect and process patient specimens, ensuring accurate tracking and logging.
  • Ensure patient care areas are adequately stocked with medical supplies and equipment, and maintain a clean and safe environment.
  • Prepare patients for scheduled procedures, ensuring proper setup and use of equipment.
  • Arrange for diagnostic and therapeutic services, completing necessary paperwork and scheduling appointments.
  • Administer vaccines, medications, and controlled substances under the direction of a licensed nurse or provider.
  • Document and process prescription requests and refills, maintaining accurate records.
  • Perform basic office procedures, examinations, and tests as ordered by the provider.
  • Provide patients with standard patient care instructions and education, reviewing with patients and family members as directed.
  • Obtain comprehensive health information from patients and family members, assisting providers in determining care needs.
  • Efficiently manage daily patient flow, prioritizing tasks and activities delegated by the care team.
  • Support the provider during patient exams, collecting and entering information in the patient record.
Requirements
  • Associate's degree in Medical Assisting or Practical Nursing, or Diploma in Medical Assisting.
  • Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) certification upon hire.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification upon hire.
  • Completion of required education programs and competency testing.
  • Medical terminology knowledge.
Working Environment

This role requires standing, walking, and sitting for extended periods. Occasional lifting, carrying, pushing, and pulling of up to 50 pounds is required. Exposure to bloodborne pathogens is possible.
