Key Responsibilities:
- Manage and operate HF/VHF radio systems, along with computer and telephone communication tools to accurately transcribe real-time communications from pilots.
- Relay critical information to Air Route Traffic Control (ARTC) Centers, airlines, and other relevant agencies to facilitate smooth operations.
- Assist in coordinating communications between aircraft and ground support stations, ensuring timely and accurate information exchange.
- Maintain up-to-date records of in-flight anomalies and communicate necessary updates to Aviation Voice Service Staff and ATC Facilities.
- Obtain a Restricted Radiotelephone Operator Permit through the FCC if not already possessed.
- Support a 24/7 operational environment, including mandatory shift work and holiday coverage.
- Achieve and maintain a typing speed of 40 words per minute on an electronic keyboard.
- Perform essential functions that require visual acuity to read information on multiple monitors and auditory skills to hear communications through headphones.
- Gain expertise in transcribing pilot communications into airline and FAA systems using advanced technologies.
- Understand weather code symbols and procedures related to Air Traffic Control relay operations.
- High School diploma or equivalent (GED).
- Authorization to work in the U.S. without sponsorship.
- Previous experience in customer service roles.
- Experience in radio communications, call center operations, or dispatching.
- Familiarity with airline transportation services or public agency dispatching.
- Knowledge of technical and operational terminology used in aeronautical communication.
