About the Opportunity

We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Mental Health Clinician to join our team at Volunteers of America Massachusetts. As a key member of our outpatient care team, you will provide evidence-based therapeutic interventions to individuals struggling with substance use disorders and related mental health issues.

Job Summary

The Mental Health Clinician will work in a hybrid role, splitting time between in-office sessions at our Taunton clinic and telehealth sessions from home. This role requires a strong commitment to delivering high-quality care, collaborating with colleagues, and contributing to a positive work environment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and maintain an active caseload of 30 hours per week, providing individual, couples, family, and group therapy sessions.
  • Work with clients to create personalized action plans addressing mental health, substance use, and co-occurring symptoms.
  • Participate in weekly individual and group clinical supervision, as well as staff meetings, to ensure ongoing professional growth and development.
  • Collaborate with the integrated services care team to enhance client experiences and promote a whole-person health approach.
  • Serve as part of the crisis team, providing crisis intervention services, brief supportive psychotherapy, and timely assessments to triage and refer clients to appropriate providers.
Requirements
  • Master's degree in mental health counseling, social work, psychology, or a related field from an accredited institution, with a focus on mental health counseling.
  • Active licensure in Massachusetts (LMHC, LICSW, or LADCI) or eligibility for licensure by a specified timeline.
  • At least one year of experience working with clients diagnosed with substance use disorders, mental health disorders, and co-occurring disorders.
  • Experience working with diverse populations, including various ages and diagnoses.
  • Knowledge of trauma-informed and harm reduction philosophies.
  • Proficiency in using electronic medical record systems.
