The Mechanical Engineering division is a leader in the design, development, and production of mechanical systems. We focus on optimizing system costs while enhancing production efficiency through ongoing training and improvement initiatives.

Our capabilities span various technical disciplines, including engineering, operations, technical services, materials and processes, analysis and testing, and documentation.

The Mechanical Engineering Department is looking for a Mechanical Engineer II to provide mechanical and hardware systems engineering expertise across multiple locations.

The selected candidate will report to a Mechanical Design and Production Support section within the department.

The role involves conducting research, design, analysis, and development in areas such as mechanical systems, thermal systems, materials, test equipment, hardware processes, and manufacturing processes.

Key Responsibilities
- Utilize preliminary sketches, diagrams, and engineering data to create 3-D design models and conceptual designs.
- Support detailed designs, collaborate with design leads, and implement installation activities.

- Work collaboratively to develop innovative mechanical subsystems using solid modeling practices and CAD tools such as Creo Parametric, Solidworks, AutoCAD, or equivalent.

- Possess a general understanding of machining and sheet metal fabrication processes, capabilities, and limitations.
- Process Technical Data Package (TDP) releases and Change Notices (CN).Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in engineering and a minimum of 2 years of professional engineering experience.
- Proficiency in developing mechanical component or assembly designs and drawings using CAD software.
- Experience with Commercial Off-the-Shelf (COTS) hardware design, assembly, installation, integration, and testing.
- Familiarity with Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T) per ASME Y14.5M-1994.
- An active and transferable U.S. government-issued TS/SCI security clearance is required prior to the start date. U.S. citizenship is mandatory for security clearance eligibility.Preferred Qualifications
- Knowledge of mechanical design applications and fabrication processes.
- Experience in Command and Control or Naval Systems product areas.
- Proficiency with Creo Parametric CAD tool.
- Hands-on experience in electronics packaging, hardware assembly, deployment, and field installation.
- Familiarity with Windchill 10.0 PDM link or equivalent configuration management systems.What We Offer
