The Mechanical Engineering Department is currently seeking a Mechanical Engineer II to provide expertise in mechanical and hardware systems engineering across multiple locations.

The selected candidate will work within a dedicated team, reporting to the Mechanical Design and Production Support section.

The role involves conducting research, design, analysis, and development in areas such as mechanical systems, thermal systems, materials, test equipment, and manufacturing processes.

Key Responsibilities:
- Develop 3-D design models and conceptual designs from preliminary sketches and engineering information.
- Support detailed design processes and collaborate with design leads.
- Engage in the implementation of Commercial Off-the-Shelf (COTS) installations.

- Work collaboratively to create innovative mechanical subsystems using CAD tools such as Creo Parametric, Solidworks, or AutoCAD.

Qualifications Required:
- Bachelor's degree in engineering with a minimum of 2 years of relevant experience.
- Proficiency in mechanical component or assembly design using CAD software.
- Familiarity with COTS hardware design, assembly, installation, integration, and testing.
- Knowledge of Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T) per ASME standards.
- Active U.S. government issued TS/SCI security clearance is mandatory prior to employment. U.S. citizenship is required for security clearance eligibility.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with mechanical design applications and fabrication techniques.
- Background in Command and Control or Naval Systems.
- Proficiency with Creo Parametric CAD tool.
- Hands-on experience in electronics packaging, hardware assembly, and field installation.
- Familiarity with configuration management systems like Windchill.
