Pediatric Clinical Nurse Specialist

The Duke University Hospital Pediatric Clinical Nurse Specialist (CNS) - Critical Care position is a dynamic and challenging role that requires a highly skilled and experienced nurse to provide expert care to critically ill pediatric patients.
Key Responsibilities- Collaborate with the healthcare team to enhance patient care and provide evidence-based clinical expertise to nursing staff.
- Conduct comprehensive patient assessments and develop individualized care plans to address complex clinical problems.
- Prescribe nursing therapeutics, interventions, and treatments to meet the needs of patients and families.
- Develop and implement standards of practice, guidelines, policies, and protocols to improve patient outcomes.
- Provide education and training to nursing staff and other healthcare professionals to enhance their knowledge and skills.
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives and contribute to the advancement of the profession through research and publication.
- Graduate of an accredited MSN or DNP Clinical Pediatric Nurse Specialist program.
- Current unrestricted RN license issued by or recognized by the NCBON with recognition to practice as a CNS.
- Certification as a CNS-P (Pediatric).
- Minimum 3 years of pediatric RN clinical experience and 1 year of pediatric critical care RN clinical experience.
