Pediatric Respiratory Care Specialist

We are seeking a highly skilled Pediatric Respiratory Care Specialist to join our team at Duke University Hospital. As a specialist in pediatric respiratory care, you will be responsible for providing high-quality patient care to children and infants in our Level IV Intensive Care Nursery, Pediatric Cardiothoracic ICU, and Pediatric ICU.
Key Responsibilities:
- Administer oxygen, aerosolized medication, and other respiratory therapies as prescribed by physicians.
- Perform diagnostic and therapeutic clinical procedures, including intubation, surfactant administration, and airway clearance.
- Monitor patient vital signs and respond to changes in patient condition.
- Collaborate with healthcare teams to develop and implement patient care plans.
Requirements:
- Completion of a 2-year AMA-approved respiratory care program (Associates Degree or equivalent).
- North Carolina State Licensure or Provisional License, Certification by the National Board for Respiratory Care (NBRC).
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification and any other applicable certifications.
