Pediatric Gastroenterology Nurse Opportunity

We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Pediatric Gastroenterology Nurse to join our dynamic team at Duke University Hospital. As a key member of our multidisciplinary team, you will provide exceptional care to our pediatric patients and their families, working collaboratively with physicians, nurses, and other healthcare professionals to deliver high-quality patient care.

Responsibilities:
  • Provide triage support for pediatric patients, coordinating services and providing education and nursing care to patients and families in the clinic setting.
  • Document communication in Maestro care and manage MyChart messages as appropriate.
  • Assist with medication refills, referral management, and completion of needed forms.
  • Coordinate diagnostic testing and outpatient appointments, both at Duke and outside facilities.
  • Provide patient and family education on plan of care for procedures, therapies, and equipment.
  • Delegate tasks and direct the activities of unlicensed care providers.
Requirements:
  • Graduation from an accredited Bachelor's Degree in Nursing (or higher) OR Associate's Degree in Nursing OR Nursing Diploma program.
  • Twelve months of appropriate clinical experience is required.
  • Current registration with North Carolina State Board of Nursing as a registered professional nurse OR current compact RN licensure to practice in the state of North Carolina required.
  • BLS Certification required.
