Pediatric Surgery Operating Room

The Pediatric Surgery Operating Room at Duke University Hospital is a dedicated surgical unit specializing in caring for infants, children, and adolescents across multiple surgical specialties. Our team of pediatric surgeons, neurosurgeons, orthopedic surgeons, urologists, plastic surgeons, dental surgeons, ENT specialists, anesthesiologists, perioperative nurses, child life specialists, and surgical technologists work together to provide comprehensive and coordinated care.

Responsibilities

  • Provide high-quality patient care to infants, children, and adolescents undergoing surgical procedures
  • Collaborate with the pediatric surgery team to develop and implement individualized care plans
  • Participate in preoperative and postoperative care, including patient education and family support
  • Contribute to a safe and efficient operating room environment

Requirements

  • Current registration with the North Carolina State Board of Nursing as a registered professional nurse OR current compact RN licensure to practice in the state of North Carolina
  • BLS (or higher) certification
  • Professional specialty certification (preferred)
  • Graduation from an accredited Bachelor's Degree in Nursing (or higher), Associate's Degree in Nursing, or Nursing Diploma program
