Role Summary:

As an Import Operations Executive at BDP International, you will play a crucial role in managing key accounts and ensuring exceptional customer service for import activities.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Oversee the import customer service operations for key accounts.
  2. Facilitate the effective handling of ocean import shipments through established protocols and strategic planning.
  3. Implement standard operating procedures (SOPs) to ensure seamless shipment processing in accordance with client and agent requirements.
  4. Deliver prompt and courteous service to agents and end-customers, ensuring high satisfaction levels.
  5. Coordinate with the operations and customer service teams to ensure smooth operational workflows.
  6. Engage with customers and collaborate with customs house agents (CHAs), transporters, and other stakeholders to optimize operations.
  7. Arrange necessary inspections, surveys, and certifications from vendors.
  8. Maintain timely updates of daily service reports (DSR) as per company guidelines and distribute them to relevant parties.
  9. Foster relationships with overseas agents and clients to facilitate FOB sales and trade leads.
  10. Support the ocean import operations team as needed.
  11. Address client grievances and manage customs-related issues effectively.
  12. Handle vendor management, including selection, negotiation, and contract finalization.
  13. Proactively manage contract renewals to prevent lapses.
  14. Monitor vendor performance and conduct regular review meetings, providing feedback to management.
  15. Ensure timely payment processing and manage vendor outstanding balances in collaboration with the finance team.

Qualifications:

We seek candidates with a minimum of three years of experience in import operations within a freight forwarding or brokerage environment. Experience in customer service roles is also preferred.

Successful candidates will thrive in a fast-paced setting, possess excellent communication and organizational skills, and demonstrate strong attention to detail. Teamwork and leadership capabilities are highly valued.

Familiarity with various computer programs is essential for this role.
