Avera McKennan Hospital is a leading health care organization that has been recognized for its excellence in patient care and employee satisfaction. We are seeking a highly skilled Medical Laboratory Scientist to join our team in the Stem Cell Laboratory.
About the PositionThis is a full-time position that requires a Bachelor's degree from a four-year college or university and completion of a NAACLS accredited Medical Laboratory Scientist program. The ideal candidate will have experience in blood banking, stem cell handling and processing, flow cytometry, and molecular techniques. Certification as a Medical Laboratory Scientist from the ASCP or AMT is required.
Responsibilities- Perform a variety of clinical laboratory tests, procedures, and related duties in the Stem Cell Laboratory.
- Utilize scientific principles and technical, procedural, and problem-solving aptitudes for day-to-day laboratory technical operations, quality control, quality assurance, procedure/instrument maintenance, and corrective action.
- Correlate test results and provide accurate and timely reporting to healthcare providers.
- Participate in continuing education and professional development to stay current with advances in laboratory technology and techniques.
Avera McKennan Hospital offers a competitive salary and benefits package, including health, dental, and paid time off. The hourly range for this position is $41.50 per hour, and the position may be eligible for a $15,000 sign-on bonus with a 3-year commitment. Additionally, the position may be eligible for Avera's Student Loan Repayment Program, which helps pay off student loans and save money.
Work ScheduleThe work schedule for this position is Monday-Friday, with shifts ranging from 6:30 am to 4:30 pm. The position requires on-call duties every 3rd week/weekend and full-time hours of 80 hours every 2 weeks.
