Medical Laboratory Scientist

Avera McKennan Hospital is a leading health care organization that has been recognized for its excellence in patient care and employee satisfaction. We are seeking a highly skilled Medical Laboratory Scientist to join our team in the Stem Cell Laboratory.
About the Role
The Medical Laboratory Scientist will be responsible for performing a variety of clinical laboratory tests, procedures, and related duties. This includes utilizing scientific principles, technical, procedural, and problem-solving aptitudes for day-to-day laboratory technical operations, quality control, quality assurance, procedure/instrument maintenance, and corrective action.
Responsibilities
- Perform clinical laboratory tests, procedures, and related duties
- Utilize scientific principles and technical, procedural, and problem-solving aptitudes
- Maintain quality control, quality assurance, and procedure/instrument maintenance
- Correlate test results and take corrective action as needed
- Participate in continuing education and professional development
Requirements
To be successful in this role, you will need a Bachelor's degree from a four-year college or university and completion of a NAACLS accredited Medical Laboratory Scientist program. Additionally, you will need certification as a Medical Laboratory Scientist from the ASCP or AMT.

Work Schedule
The work schedule for this role will be Monday-Friday, with shifts ranging from 6:30 am to 4:30 pm. You will be required to work 80 hours every two weeks, with on-call duties every third week/weekend.
Compensation
The hourly range for this position is $41.50 per hour, with actual hourly rate dependent upon experience.
