About the Role

The YMCA of Metro Atlanta is seeking a highly motivated and caring individual to join our team as a Playcenter Attendant. In this role, you will be responsible for providing exceptional care and supervision to children aged three months to twelve years, while ensuring a safe and engaging environment for all.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide high-quality childcare and youth development services to children in our Playcenter
  • Lead activities and games that promote physical and emotional development
  • Ensure the safety and well-being of all children at all times
  • Communicate effectively with parents and guardians regarding their child's daily activities and any issues that may arise
  • Participate in ongoing training and professional development to enhance skills and knowledge
  • Contribute to a positive and inclusive team environment
Requirements
  • Must be at least 16 years of age and have experience working with youth in a structured setting
  • Complete all required trainings prior to start; must obtain CPR certification within the first 30 days of employment
  • A working knowledge of computers, including MS Word and MS Excel, is preferred
  • Exemplify YMCA ideals, character values, leadership qualities, and excellent interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to handle multiple tasks, work independently, problem-solve, and possess effective time management skills
  • Ability to supervise and interact with children in a professional and caring way
  • Strong customer service skills and personal commitment to service and hospitality
Working Conditions

This role requires the ability to work in a fast-paced environment, with frequent interruptions and changing priorities. The successful candidate must be able to lift up to thirty pounds, bend, stoop, stand, and sit for extended periods. A working knowledge of computers, including MS Word and MS Excel, is preferred.
