Job Summary: The Residential Services Coordinator engages in resource development for the individuals served, ensuring their life goals are realized, personal outcomes are met, and the quality of care is maintained at a high standard. This role involves problem-solving and regular communication with program participants, direct support professionals (DSPs), and families for a designated location.

Supervisory Responsibilities: Oversees Direct Support Professionals.

Duties/Responsibilities:

  • Lead, direct, and manage a team of Direct Support Professionals; oversee staffing and scheduling, ensuring coverage as needed. Facilitate both individual and team meetings.
  • Provide coverage and perform DSP duties in the absence of staff.
  • Collaborate with Human Resources on hiring and termination processes; review applications.
  • Conduct interviews for open positions.
  • Ensure compliance with all local, state, and federal regulations; uphold UCP's policies and procedures.
  • Ensure completion of compliance training and activities; follow up and administer support or discipline as necessary.
  • Schedule and coordinate activities to support transportation needs.
  • Conduct weekly medication counts and review Medication Administration Records (MAR).
  • Inspect and report on the status of adaptive equipment on a weekly basis.
  • Ensure vehicles are operational and equipped with necessary safety features; train staff on vehicle and lift safety.
  • Maintain cleanliness and safety standards in homes.
  • Complete weekly grocery orders and ensure menus are prepared.
  • Educate staff on dietary requirements for individuals and the importance of meal preparation.
  • Shop for individuals to replace clothing and personal items.
  • Manage financial logs and petty cash; submit receipts for purchases.
  • Ensure accurate and timely documentation through regular checks and audits; address any discrepancies.
  • Perform home inspections and rectify deficiencies; notify maintenance for repairs.
  • Foster relationships with families and other stakeholders.
  • Ensure completion of evacuation drills and availability of safety equipment and emergency supplies.
  • Oversee behavior tracking and submit weekly reports.
  • Manage medical appointments and arrange transportation as needed.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.
Required Skills/Abilities:

Required Certifications and Licenses: Must possess a valid driver's license, CPR/First Aid certification, and CPI training.

Education and Experience:

Preferred: 4-Year Degree in Human Services, 2 years of experience as a DSP, and at least 3 years of supervisory experience.

Required: High School Diploma, 5 years of experience as a DSP, and at least 5 years of supervisory experience.

Physical Requirements:
  1. Ability to lift up to fifty (50) pounds; moving, lifting, or transferring individuals may require lifting up to 100 pounds.
  2. Ability to exert maximum muscle force to lift, push, pull, or carry individuals.

Additional physical demands include the ability to stand for extended periods, bend, stoop, stretch, twist, sit, and reach. Fine motor skills and visual acuity are also required. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform essential functions. While performing job duties, the employee is regularly required to stand, talk, or hear, and frequently required to walk, use hands, and reach forward. The employee may occasionally need to sit, stoop, kneel, or crouch, and must frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds, with occasional lifting of 100 pounds. Specific vision abilities required include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
