Job Overview

Position Summary

The Senior Bilingual Clinical Counselor plays a crucial role in overseeing clinical services, mentoring new clinicians, and managing clinical teams. This position is pivotal in conducting goal-oriented diagnostic evaluations, providing individual and group therapy, and enhancing program offerings. The Clinical Counselor serves as a primary mental health provider, engaging in mental health evaluations, crafting personalized treatment strategies, facilitating therapy sessions, and organizing preventive mental wellness workshops. The Bilingual Lead Clinician will also support the supervision of clinical staff to ensure adherence to relevant regulations and guidelines.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Oversee and coordinate clinical counseling services, ensuring effective supervision, training, and documentation practices among clinical staff while fostering partnerships with community service providers.
  2. Conduct mental health evaluations and interventions, develop tailored treatment plans, lead therapy sessions, and monitor clients' mental health progress.
  3. Perform intake and diagnostic assessments, documenting findings in accordance with established standards.
  4. Provide clinical coverage as necessary and deliver therapy to children, including preparing treatment and discharge plans.
  5. Facilitate individual counseling and crisis intervention, as well as psycho-educational group sessions.
  6. Gather and analyze client data through interviews and assessments to inform therapeutic approaches.
  7. Ensure timely and safe release of unaccompanied minors in compliance with organizational policies.
  8. Train clinical staff on responsibilities and updates regarding policies and procedures.
  9. Maintain accurate documentation of services provided, ensuring compliance with state and federal regulations.
  10. Collaborate with program administrators to enhance service delivery and ensure effective communication among clinical teams.
  11. Monitor performance and identify areas for improvement within the clinical team.
  12. Participate in departmental meetings and required training sessions to stay informed about policy changes and best practices.
  13. Maintain a safe and organized work environment, and assist in emergency situations as needed.
  14. Other duties as assigned to support the overall mission of the organization.

Qualifications:

  • Master's Degree in Psychology, Social Work, Clinical Counseling, or a related field is required. Additional relevant coursework is preferred.
  • Two years of direct service experience in a clinical setting is mandatory.
  • Licensure as LCSW, LPC, or equivalent is required.
  • Bilingual proficiency in English and Spanish is essential.
  • Supervisory experience and cultural competency training are advantageous.
