Job Title: Deputy Director, Communications and Stewardship

Best Buddies International is a nonprofit organization dedicated to creating opportunities for one-to-one friendships, integrated employment, leadership development, inclusive living, and family support for individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities (IDD).

The Deputy Director, Communications and Stewardship is responsible for developing and executing a comprehensive statewide communication and engagement strategy. This includes creating a strong presence for Best Buddies through public speaking, community involvement, public service announcements, social media campaigns, news releases, and other media initiatives.

The ideal candidate will have a strong background in fundraising administration and planning, as well as experience in external communications, including email, social media, and mail. They will be able to provide quality results under pressure and strict deadlines, and have a strong proficiency with Microsoft Office and database management systems.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Developing and implementing a statewide communication and engagement strategy
  • Creating a strong presence for Best Buddies through public speaking, community involvement, and media initiatives
  • Managing multiple digital platforms, including content management systems, email marketing software, and social media tools
  • Writing and distributing press releases to targeted members of the media
  • Assisting in securing statewide partnerships for in-kind donations
  • Overseeing the organization of local content and images for updates to the state website
  • Developing and managing an annual communication and marketing plan
