Job Responsibilities

$3,000 Sign-On Bonus

As a maintenance operator, your role will involve:

*Responding to emergency situations and severe weather conditions by operating equipment for snow and ice removal, establishing work zones, and conducting traffic control.
*Engaging as a team member in manual labor tasks such as clearing drainage systems, cutting vegetation, and repairing potholes.
*Conducting pre-trip inspections and performing routine maintenance on various types of equipment.
*Utilizing a range of hand and power tools effectively.

Essential Qualifications

You may qualify if you possess:

*A strong ability to adhere to safety protocols and procedures.
*Willingness to learn and follow guidelines related to roadway maintenance equipment, materials, and techniques.
*Experience in operating machinery such as tractors, loaders, and dump trucks.
*Capacity to perform physically demanding tasks, including lifting and carrying items weighing up to 50 lbs.
*Proficiency in using hand and power tools like weed eaters, chainsaws, shovels, and rakes.
*Ability to obtain a CDL and DOT medical certification within 11 months of employment and maintain it thereafter.
*Flexibility to work in varying weather conditions and respond to emergencies during off-hours, including nights, weekends, and holidays.

Additional Preferences

Preferred qualifications include:

*A valid CDL with necessary endorsements.
*Recent experience in heavy manual labor.
*Experience in operating medium to heavy machinery.
*Background in performing preventative maintenance and minor repairs on equipment.
*Certification in flagging and experience in work zone setup.

*DMV Records Check.
*Fingerprint-based criminal history check with state police and FBI.

Additional requirements for CDL holders:
*Full Query drug and alcohol history in FMCSA Clearinghouse.
*Pre-employment drug and alcohol screening.
*Federal DOT pre-employment physical.

Safety footwear and other personal protective equipment (PPE) are mandatory for job duties.

This position is deemed essential, necessitating all associated responsibilities during emergencies, including but not limited to inclement weather and disaster response.

Work may extend beyond standard business hours, including nights, weekends, and holidays. The determination of when essential personnel are required to report will be made by the organization.

Multiple Maintenance Operator positions may be filled from this recruitment.

The organization employs a market-based pay structure, which has been approved by the relevant authorities. Consequently, advertised pay rates may not correspond with standard pay bands.

Note: Equipment Operators hired without a valid CDL must obtain their CDL within 11 months of hire and cannot operate commercial vehicles until they have the necessary licensure and medical certification.
