Landscape Maintenance Technician

POSITION SUMMARY:
- Engages in diverse tasks related to landscape upkeep, facility sanitation, and debris removal, as well as road and trail maintenance.
- Assists in various trades and craft activities aimed at the upkeep, repair, and enhancement of equipment, facilities, and infrastructure.
- Works independently or collaboratively as part of a team.
- Supports skilled tradespeople in maintenance tasks.
- Entry-level roles available with opportunities for advancement based on individual performance and acquired skills.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Utilizes hand and powered landscaping tools and equipment.
- Maintains cleanliness of facilities, including restrooms and common areas; responsible for waste removal.
- Plants and nurtures vegetation including grass, flowers, trees, and shrubs.
- Handles the loading, transportation, and unloading of materials and tools.
- Conducts repairs and painting of fences, gates, benches, and other structures.
- Assists in the lifting, positioning, and securing of materials during installation processes.
- Performs basic maintenance and cleaning of tools and equipment.
- Keeps work areas organized and tidy.
- Completes tasks both indoors and outdoors, with potential vehicle operation required.
- Participates in safety and quality control initiatives, adhering to established protocols.
- Exhibits reliability in attendance and task completion, demonstrating flexibility to meet operational needs.
- Undertakes additional responsibilities as assigned.
REQUIRED SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS:
- Proficient in the use of hand tools (e.g., rakes, brooms) and power equipment utilized in landscape and facility maintenance.
- Physical capability to stand, walk, push, pull, reach, stoop, kneel, and crouch frequently.
- Able to lift and/or move up to 50 pounds, with the physical stamina to perform moderate to heavy labor.
- Vision capabilities must include close, distance, color vision, and depth perception, with or without corrective lenses.
- Willingness to assist in various trades as needed.
- Ability to read and comprehend instructions, with effective communication skills for interaction with team members and supervisors.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
- 1-3 years of relevant experience in landscape or facility maintenance.
- High school diploma or equivalent is mandatory. A valid Driver's License is required.
- Must successfully pass background checks and drug/alcohol screenings.
