Job Summary:

The Managed Services IT Technician I is a key member of our team at Golden West Services Inc, responsible for providing top-notch technical support to our clients. This role involves responding to customer technology issues, providing proactive work monitoring systems, and maintaining clients' computer hardware, software, and networks.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide remote support for Windows desktop and server operating systems, switches, routers, wireless access points, firewalls, and backup systems.
  • Schedule and deploy firewall firmware upgrades.
  • Analyze and send notifications for security detections.
  • Analyze and respond to network alerts.
  • Provide system backup monitoring and support.
  • Efficiently track time and provide detailed work-performed documentation.
  • Create accurate documentation of customer network infrastructure, servers, contacts, software, and hardware installations.
  • Provide feedback to identify where further administration and automation are needed.
  • Provide excellent customer service in support of customer technology needs.
  • Participate in an on-call rotation.
  • Maintain confidentiality.
  • Gain and maintain relevant professional certifications to ensure expertise in current technologies and methodologies.
Requirements:
  • Degree in Information Technology, Information Systems, Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or related fields; or a minimum of 2 years of related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Must be able to obtain position-relevant certifications within 1 year of start date.
  • CompTIA A+, Network+, or equivalent education/certification is highly preferred.
  • Microsoft certification preferred.
Working Conditions:

This role requires a good understanding of Microsoft Desktop and Server Operating Systems, workstation, server, printer, and other related hardware, networking equipment, including hardware firewalls, standard network diagnostics and IT troubleshooting techniques, cybersecurity principles and methods, Microsoft Office and other common business applications, and Microsoft cloud solutions, including M365, Azure, etc. The ideal candidate will be able to create documentation for installation, configuration, troubleshooting, SOPs, KBAs, etc. and work independently and make sound technical decisions using the information at hand. Excellent customer service skills and ability to problem solve, using all available resources to find resolution, are also essential. The ability to function effectively as a team player, adapt to changes in the work environment and external influences, manage competing demands and change approaches or methods to fit the situation best, deal with frequent changes, delays, or unexpected events, undertake self-development activities, comprehend, interpret, and implement a variety of technical instructions, and knowledge of Company policies and procedures are also required.
