Part-Time Faculty: Biology Instructor

We are seeking highly qualified applicants for part-time faculty positions in the Department of Biological Sciences at Quinnipiac University. The successful candidate will teach undergraduate and graduate courses in biology, including introductory biology, human anatomy and physiology, and molecular and cell biology.
About the DepartmentThe Department of Biological Sciences is a vibrant and dynamic community of scholars dedicated to excellence in teaching and research. We offer a range of undergraduate and graduate programs in biology, including majors, minors, and certificate programs.
Responsibilities- Implement a common course syllabus or develop and update a course syllabus as applicable.
- Prepare lectures, projects, or other student assignments.
- Present instruction based on the competencies and performance levels of the course.
- Meet all scheduled classes at the times published in the course schedule.
- Be responsive to student needs, including holding at least one office hour per week per course.
- Notify your department chair or program director in advance and arrange for coverage in the unusual event that you cannot be present at a scheduled class.
- Check Quinnipiac email frequently to stay current with all communications.
- Complete mandatory training within the time frame identified by Human Resources.
- A minimum of an MS degree in Biology or a related field is required; PhD preferred.
- Relevant teaching experience at the undergraduate level is preferred.
- Evidence of recent effective teaching.
- Experience in the use of instructional technologies, especially Blackboard.
- Commitment to contribute to the diversity and excellence of the academic community.
