Aveanna Healthcare is seeking a highly skilled Behavioral Consultant to join our team in a public school setting. As a Behavioral Consultant, you will play a critical role in supporting the behavioral service needs of schools, classrooms, and students.
Key Responsibilities- Collaborate with teachers, paraprofessionals, and other school professionals to develop and implement class-wide and student-specific initiatives.
- Conduct functional behavior assessments, develop teaching plans, and data systems for academic and behavioral goals.
- Complete direct observations and in-vivo modeling of behavior intervention and teaching plan components.
- Plan, design, and conduct staff training for school staff as needed.
- Summarize data on school-wide, class-wide, and student-specific initiatives and present summaries to stakeholders as needed.
- Follow established assessment practices and utilize standardized templates for drafting FBA reports.
- Participate in quality assurance/peer-review process and submit FBAs and BSPs for review.
- Assist with professional development training sessions for paraprofessional staff.
- Meet with clinical supervisor on a regular basis to review cases and initiatives.
- Current, non-restricted certification by the Behavior Analyst Certification Board.
- At least two years of verified BCBA experience providing behavioral consultative services to children with special needs.
- First-hand experience conducting FBAs and creating Behavior Support Plans for students.
- Experience teaching and supporting functional communication and social skills.
- Compliance with additional state and district-specific requirements as needed.
- Five years of school-based experience.
- Training in CPI, Safety Care, and/or other physical intervention curricula.
- Must be able to function in a wide variety of environments.
- Possible exposure to blood, bodily fluids, and infectious diseases.
