Job Summary:

The Staffing Behavior Technician will work under the supervision of certified or licensed staff members to provide support to clients in a home, community, or school setting. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) principles and be able to implement behavior analytic programs in the school setting and/or home of the student.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Implement behavior analytic programs in the school setting and/or home of the student
  • Provide support to clients under the direction of supervisors, including collecting data and graphing results on skill acquisition programs
  • Assist in the completion of assessments, such as VB-MAPP and ABLLS
  • Implement strategies to prevent and provide consequences to the occurrence of maladaptive behavior
  • Model behavior analytic teaching strategies for parents and/or school personnel
  • Facilitate the inclusion of students in general education activities in school programs
  • Provide behavior management support and implement components of behavior support plans as instructed by supervisors and behavior consultants
Requirements:
  • At least one (1) year of full-time paid work experience in a job that involved direct contact with children or adolescents
  • High School degree in a related field and three (3) years' experience working with individuals with developmental delays or behavioral challenges
  • Familiarity with Applied Behavior Analysis and competency in the implementation of fundamental procedures
  • One (1) year experience with interventions to address maladaptive behaviors
  • Completion of the Behavior Technician training modules and completion of the Registered Behavior Technician test for registration with the BACB within 6 months of hire

Physical Requirements:
  • Must be able to speak, write, read and understand English
  • Must be able to travel; company does not provide vehicles or transportation
  • Occasional lifting, carrying, pushing and pulling of 25 pounds
  • Prolonged walking, standing, climbing of stairs, bending, kneeling, reaching, twisting and crouching
  • Must be able to sit
  • Occasional rapid movement and physical agility in response to the spontaneity of children and those patients with neurological impairment
  • Must have visual and hearing acuity
  • Must have strong sense of smell and touch
Environment:
  • Must be able to function in a wide variety of environments which may involve exposure to allergens and other various conditions
  • Possible exposure to blood, bodily fluids and infectious diseases
