Job Title: Staffing Behavior Technician

Join Aveanna as a Staffing Behavior Technician and be part of an interdisciplinary team in the home, community, or school setting. As a key member of our team, you will provide support to individuals with developmental delays or behavioral challenges, helping them to follow and participate in social and instructional environments.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Work under the supervision of certified or licensed staff members to provide support to clients.
  • Implement skill acquisition programs, collect data, and graph results to track progress.
  • Assist in the completion of assessments and upkeep of program books or electronic medical records.
  • Implement strategies to prevent and provide consequences to maladaptive behavior, and facilitate the acquisition of replacement skills.
  • Model behavior analytic teaching strategies for parents and school personnel.
  • Facilitate the inclusion of students in general education activities and maintain professional communication with behavior consultants, school personnel, and family members.
Requirements:
  • At least one year of full-time paid work experience in a job involving direct contact with children or adolescents, or a high school degree in a related field and three years' experience working with individuals with developmental delays or behavioral challenges.
  • Familiarity with Applied Behavior Analysis and competency in the implementation of fundamental procedures.
  • One year of experience with interventions to address maladaptive behaviors.
  • Completion of the Behavior Technician training modules and registration with the BACB within six months of hire.
Preferred Skills:
  • Attention to detail, good organization, and time management.
  • Interpersonal skills, effective problem-solving, and conflict resolution.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and with periodic supervision.
Physical Requirements:
  • Must be able to speak, write, read, and understand English.
  • Must be able to travel and occasionally lift, carry, push, and pull 25 pounds.
  • Prolonged walking, standing, climbing of stairs, bending, kneeling, reaching, twisting, and crouching.
