Position Summary: We are seeking a qualified Civil/Structural Engineer to join our team. The ideal candidate will possess expertise in the design and construction of both residential and commercial structures. This role is crucial for investigating the causes, origins, and extent of construction defects, structural failures, water intrusions, and other related issues.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct thorough investigations and analyses of residential, commercial, and industrial properties to resolve claims and legal disputes.
  • Manage assignments that may involve contract disputes, installation deficiencies, material failures, site evaluations, settlement investigations, structural assessments, and vibration analyses.
  • Gather photographic evidence and document on-site conditions, oversee field-testing, and review historical documentation.
  • Prepare comprehensive oral and written reports detailing the causes of failures, extent of loss, repair scope, and recommended remediation strategies.
  • Provide expert opinions and testimony in litigation matters.

Qualifications:

  • Proven ability to establish and maintain productive client relationships.
  • Bachelor's Degree in Civil, Structural, or Architectural Engineering; a Master's Degree is preferred.
  • A minimum of 6-10 years of relevant experience.
  • PE License in Florida is required; NCEES record is preferred.
  • Willingness to undergo training in designated areas for approximately three months.
  • Bilingual proficiency in English and Spanish is a plus.
  • Experience in providing testimony and handling litigation/investigation is essential.
  • Strong knowledge of architectural and engineering principles, as well as construction and building component assemblies.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills to convey project details effectively.
  • Ability to travel as needed, with mileage and expenses covered for overnight trips.
  • Valid Driver's License and reliable transportation are mandatory.
  • Physical capability to lift up to 50 pounds and perform inspections in confined spaces, including building roof structures.

Compensation: The salary range for this position is $90,000 - $110,000, commensurate with education, experience, location, and certifications/licensure.
