Overview

We are seeking a skilled Licensed Structural Engineer who thrives in a collaborative environment and is eager for professional growth.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Generate structural calculations and create engineering drawings for various bridge and transportation projects, including both Design-Bid-Build and Design-Build methodologies.
  • Conduct and oversee investigations of engineering alternatives through data collection, analysis, and evaluation of various solutions.
  • Draft comprehensive technical reports.
  • Assist during the construction phase of projects by addressing RFIs, reviewing shop drawings, and providing problem-solving support.
  • Mentor and guide junior engineering staff.
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Civil or Structural Engineering from an ABET-accredited institution.
  • Licensed as a Professional Engineer and/or Structural Engineer.
  • 0 - 5 years of experience in structural engineering post-licensure.
  • 4+ years of experience in bridge design and plan production, including various types of bridges and transportation structures.
  • Familiarity with bridge design software such as FB Multi-Pier, Leap Bridge Concrete, Smartbridge, and others.
  • Proficient in Microstation, GEOPAK, OpenBridge Modeler, AutoCAD, and/or other CADD platforms for transportation structure design.
  • 3D modeling skills in OpenBridge Modeler are advantageous.
  • Understanding of the structural/bridge design process in accordance with AASHTO LRFD Bridge Design Specifications.
  • Ability to lead junior staff and contribute to the design and detailing of diverse bridge projects.
  • Experience in construction specialty engineering is a plus.
  • Knowledge of post-tensioning applications is a plus.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite: Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
  • Strong verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Detail-oriented with a strong sense of urgency and initiative to meet project deadlines.
  • Valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Master's degree (MSE/MSCE) in Civil/Structural Engineering.
  • PE and/or SE certification in Florida or the ability to obtain it.
  • Knowledge of the FDOT Structures Manual and FDOT Construction Specifications.
