**Job Summary**

We are seeking an experienced Structural Design Engineer to join our Buildings & Places team in Tampa, FL. As a key member of our team, you will provide expertise in structural design, methods, and practices within this discipline.

**Responsibilities**

• Serve as lead project structural engineer on a variety of building types, from small to large size projects and different construction methodologies.

• Provide technical input to studies and structural design, including areas of expertise.

• Train and/or knowledge sharing with junior level staff for specific technical design aspects of structural design, constructability, and suitable methodologies.

• Directly communicate with and present complex technical solutions to clients, when applicable.

• Perform quality control reviews of work developed by others and sign off on work.

• Participate in development of technical proposals (including estimates for the engineering budget and schedule).

• Review permitting agency/engineering standards and regulations necessary to develop proper structural design and engineering design and permitting applications.

• Review Client Design Standards when applicable for compliance.

• Work under supervision of the Department Manager/Project Manager, however able to organize workload and work independently on project-specific design tasks and with teams as assigned.

• Work closely with other departments from the AECOM project team/office, including civil, architecture, MEP, geotechnical, Federal team, landscape architects, and surveyors to provide value to each project.

**Requirements**

• BA/BS in Structural Engineering (from accredited college) + 8 years of relevant experience or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education.

• Registered as a Licensed Professional Engineer in the State of Florida (current FL PE License).

• Demonstrated and recent experience with Buildings and Facilities design projects.

• Recent experience using structural design software such as ETABS, SAFE, SAP, and/or RISA.

• Due to the nature of the work, US Citizenship is required.

**Preferred Qualifications**

• 10 years of experience is preferred, in structural building development projects. covering all aspects of building design, with direct experience in design and permitting.

• Experience working in large and complex projects/programs.

• Experience with construction phase services for building projects (field reviews, RFI and shop drawing/submittal reviews, specifications, as-builts and record drawings, etc.)
