Overview

We are seeking a qualified Structural Engineer who is dedicated to collaboration and professional development.

Key Responsibilities
  • Generate structural calculations and create engineering drawings for both Design-Bid-Build and Design-Build projects focused on bridge and transportation infrastructure.
  • Conduct and oversee engineering alternatives investigations through data collection, analysis, calculations, and evaluation of various solutions.
  • Draft comprehensive technical reports.
  • Assist during the construction phase of projects, including addressing RFI's, reviewing shop drawings, and problem-solving.
  • Guide and mentor junior engineering staff.
Qualifications Required
  • Bachelor's degree in Civil or Structural Engineering from an ABET-accredited institution.
  • Licensed as a Professional Engineer and/or Structural Engineer.
  • 0 - 5 years of post-registration experience in structural engineering.
  • 4+ years of relevant experience in bridge design and plans production, including various types of bridges and transportation-related structures.
  • Familiarity with multiple bridge design software, such as FB Multi-Pier, Leap Bridge Concrete, Smartbridge, LARSA, CSI, STAAD, MDX, Shoring Suite, Atlas, and FDOT MathCAD analysis worksheets.
  • Proficient in Microstation, GEOPAK, OpenBridge Modeler, AutoCAD, and/or CADD platforms for transportation structure design and plans.
  • Experience in 3D modeling using OpenBridge Modeler is advantageous.
  • Understanding of the structural/bridge design process in accordance with AASHTO LRFD Bridge Design Specifications.
  • Ability to lead junior staff and contribute to the design and detailing of small to large-scale multi-discipline bridge projects of varying complexity.
  • Experience in construction specialty engineering is a plus.
  • Familiarity with post-tensioning applications is a plus.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite: Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
  • Strong verbal, written, interpersonal, and time management skills.
  • Demonstrated urgency and self-initiative to meet client deadlines.
  • Detail-oriented team player with a commitment to fostering a positive work environment.
  • Valid driver's license with an acceptable driving history.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Master's degree (MSE/MSCE) in Civil/Structural Engineering.
  • PE and/or SE certification in Florida or the ability to obtain Florida Registration.
  • Knowledge of the structural/bridge design process as per the FDOT Structures Manual and FDOT Construction Specifications.
