Position Summary

The Assistant Manager plays a crucial role in upholding a consistent member service philosophy within the Athletic Club, ensuring high-quality service, efficient operations, and adherence to facility standards. This position is integral to our Member Services team and reports directly to the Member Services Manager.

Key Responsibilities

Facility Operations

  • Ensure all aspects of the Athletic Club meet member and guest expectations.
  • Cross-train across various departments to gain a comprehensive understanding of operations and assist as needed.
  • Enforce club policies and procedures, addressing issues as necessary and reporting to the appropriate management.
  • Conduct daily cash inventory.
  • Respond to emergencies and complete incident reports as required.
  • At facilities with Aquatics departments, be trained in Basic Water Rescue to support lifeguards during breaks and assist in emergencies.
  • Support the training of new hires within the Member Services Department.

Member Engagement

  • Build strong relationships with members and guests, serving as a resource for feedback on programs and services.
  • Address member and guest inquiries and concerns, focusing on retention and customer satisfaction.
  • Conduct facility tours for prospective members.
  • Manage membership sales processes, including pricing, sign-ups, account inquiries, billing, and cancellations.

Additional Duties

  • Participate in regular training sessions as directed by supervisors.
  • Maintain a professional appearance by adhering to the MVP Sports Clubs uniform policy.
  • Assist with general operational tasks as needed.

Qualifications

  • A Bachelor's degree in a relevant field is preferred.
  • At least 2 years of experience in a high-volume customer service environment, with strong skills in managing challenging situations.
  • First Aid/CPR certification is required; training will be provided if not already certified.
  • Completion of Basic Water Rescue Training is necessary after hiring.
  • Excellent communication, leadership, and organizational abilities.
  • Availability to work opening and closing shifts, including weekends and holidays.
  • Capability to manage multiple tasks while maintaining composure.
  • Physical requirements include the ability to lift up to 40 lbs and perform various physical tasks associated with the role.
