Control Systems Specialist

Are you enthusiastic about crafting and deploying state-of-the-art control systems? Automationtechies is at the forefront of delivering integrated automation solutions, and we are looking for a Control Systems Specialist to enhance our team.

Position Overview

In this role, you will utilize your knowledge in electrical controls, information technology, and security systems to design and execute comprehensive control systems tailored to our clients' security and access control requirements. Your contributions will span from the initial design phase to the final implementation, while consistently identifying areas for enhancement.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Engineer, design, and program integrated access control, surveillance, and HMI/PLC control systems.
  • Develop Human-Machine Interfaces (HMI) using industry-standard software.
  • Design system and network architecture to ensure optimal performance.
  • Create hardware and panel schematics for various projects.
  • Analyze and devise solutions for integrating diverse systems.
  • Generate specifications and documentation for both customers and internal use.
  • Provide technical assistance to clients and team members.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Expertise in HMI or SCADA software, especially with popular platforms.
  • Experience in programming PLCs, with a preference for specific brands.
  • Understanding of electrical control systems design; familiarity with CAD software is advantageous.
  • Strong computer proficiency.
  • Knowledge of networking principles and communication protocols.
  • Ability to work autonomously as well as part of a team.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Familiarity with video, intercom, and access control systems is a plus.
  • Experience in programming languages such as VB.NET or C# is beneficial.

Are You a Good Fit?

  • Associate's or Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or a related technical field, or equivalent experience.
  • Proficiency in 2D CAD applications.
  • A minimum of 2 years of hands-on experience with PLC and/or HMI programming.
  • Ability to pass necessary background checks as required.
  • Willingness to travel occasionally as needed.
