Line Operator - East Room

Compensation:
$25.87/hour plus $0.55/hr shift differential

Shift Schedule:
M-Th 3:15pm to 1:45am

Job Overview:


As a key member of the production team, you will be responsible for processing, filling, and packaging products in a manner that adheres to safety and quality standards set by the company.


Key Responsibilities:


- Adhere to standard operating procedures and actively participate in troubleshooting production issues by sharing insights with team members and supervisors.
- Implement safe work practices to minimize workplace injuries by complying with all safety regulations.
- Set up, operate, and adjust machinery that performs various packaging functions, including filling, labeling, and wrapping containers.
- Monitor production equipment to identify malfunctions and make necessary adjustments to ensure optimal performance and compliance with production specifications.
- Maintain accurate records of production metrics, including downtime and item counts, using computer systems.
- Clear jams and replenish packaging materials as needed while following lockout/tagout procedures.
- Conduct hand filling operations, ensuring containers are accurately filled, weighed, and labeled.
- Inspect products on the conveyor for defects and remove any non-compliant items.
- Execute line operations with standard changeovers and setups for production runs.
- Remove filled cartons from the packaging line and palletize them appropriately.
- Uphold cleanliness standards on production lines and surrounding areas.
- Interpret work orders and follow verbal instructions to determine operational procedures and material needs.
- Collaborate with team members to ensure efficient line operations and timely communication of relevant information.
- Assist in training new operators and provide ongoing support to current employees.
- Perform additional duties as assigned.


Required Skills and Qualifications:


- Mechanical aptitude with a basic understanding of tools and equipment relevant to the role.
- Proficient in basic mathematical operations.
- Ability to monitor machinery and equipment, interpreting gauges and indicators to ensure proper functioning.
- Capability to follow written and verbal instructions effectively.
- Strong problem-solving skills related to work processes.
- Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team.
- Effective organizational skills to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
- Capacity to engage with individuals from diverse backgrounds and perspectives.
- Ability to maintain a fast pace and stand for extended periods.
- Excellent communication skills with colleagues and trainees.

Education and Training:
- High school diploma or GED required.
- On-site training will be provided for specific job responsibilities.
Equipment Utilized:
- Various machinery including cappers, sealers, fillers, labelers, and more.

Protective Equipment:
- Personal protective equipment (PPE) is required for many job functions, with training provided upon hire.
Work Environment:
- This role is situated in a manufacturing plant, involving exposure to mechanical parts and airborne particles. Must be able to lift up to 40 lbs.
Physical Requirements:
- Continuous communication and auditory discrimination required.
- Regular visual monitoring of machinery and products.
- Frequent standing and walking required throughout the shift.
