Role Overview
The Centrifugal Service Technician within our Compression Technologies and Services division is pivotal in delivering exceptional service to our clients. This role involves the installation, troubleshooting, repair, and maintenance of our centrifugal compressor product lines, including Centac and Turbo Air models, along with other compressed air system components. Proficiency in using precision measuring instruments for diagnosing compressed air equipment issues is essential. Familiarity with all operational and parts manuals related to the equipment is also required.
Key Responsibilities
- Communicate effectively with clients and team members, both verbally and in writing.
- Provide technical support during equipment pre-commissioning, installations, and repairs of compressed air systems, ensuring they meet customer specifications with minimal supervision.
- Conduct safety evaluations in a dynamic work environment.
- Document service and installation tasks by completing work orders, maintenance checklists, and daily time sheets.
- Enhance customer awareness of Ingersoll Rand’s products and services, including Package Care, Preventative Maintenance, Diagnostics, Audits, and Leak Detection.
- Maintain strong customer relationships by addressing concerns, identifying solutions, and recommending system enhancements.
- Clarify practices, procedures, and policies to reach consensus with external suppliers and stakeholders.
- Ensure optimal performance of compressed air equipment through regular preventative maintenance and comprehensive inspections.
- 3-5 years of experience with centrifugal compressors is preferred.
- A high school diploma or equivalent is required.
- This role requires working in various conditions, including mechanical equipment rooms with exposure to loud machinery, extreme weather, and potential electrical hazards.
- Strong customer service skills, including conflict resolution and opportunity development.
- Candidates must possess their own tools.
- A valid driver's license for at least 12 months is necessary, with no significant traffic violations.
- This position is physically demanding, requiring regular lifting and movement.
- Ability to interpret wiring schematics and diagrams for all equipment.
- Act as a technical resource for customers and Customer Service Managers.
- Provide guidance and training to Apprentices and Field Service Technicians.
- Collaborate with the Service Coordinator to procure necessary parts and supplies for installations and repairs.
- Experience with advanced network systems installations.
- Basic troubleshooting skills for vibration and air quality issues.
