We are seeking a skilled Assembly Technician to join our team at Cummins. As an Assembly Technician, you will play a critical role in the production process, ensuring that our products meet the highest standards of quality and performance.
Key Responsibilities- Installation and Assembly: Install value-added components to engines and generators, adhering to customer requirements and design specifications.
- Light Production Assembly: Perform light production assembly tasks, including drilling, bolting, and light fabrication.
- Interpretation and Teamwork: Interpret basic installation drawings and work collaboratively with the team to accomplish installations.
- Technical Knowledge: Possess the ability to read detailed equipment and part diagrams/prints, including 2D and 3D drawings, and verify torque values referenced from established engineered guidelines.
- Shop Maintenance: Perform general shop maintenance tasks, such as inspecting extension cords, replacing air lines, and completing daily JSA reports.
- Work Experience: Requires some work experience or intermediate level knowledge obtained through education, training, or on-the-job experience.
- Automotive Knowledge: Ability to work in an automotive shop/manufacturing setting and use power tools to remove/install external diesel engine and generator components.
- Mechanical Knowledge: Mechanical knowledge, automotive repair, and assembly experience preferred.
- Soft Skills: Detail-oriented, excellent time management skills, and intermediate level computer skills.
- Physical Demands: Ability to physically lift 50 pounds occasionally and wear required personal protective equipment.
- Education: High school diploma or certificate of completion of secondary education or equivalent experience to the extent such experience meets applicable regulations.
- DOT Pre-Screenings: This position does not require any Department of Transportation (DOT) related pre-screenings.
