Job Description

The Patient Service Representative (PSR) is responsible for providing exceptional customer service to all incoming patients at CityMD.

This role involves registering patients, coordinating with the team, and ensuring a timely turnaround for the patient.

The PSR responds to patient questions and concerns with kindness and urgency, both on the phone and in person, and is responsible for all paperwork associated with patient registration.

Essential Functions/Responsibilities
  1. Greet and welcome patients
  2. Organize and coordinate patient intake and appointments
  3. Accurately enter and update patient information in the system
  4. Assist patients with completing paperwork when necessary
  5. Scan, update, and file medical records
  6. Answer phone calls, questions, etc. in a prompt and polite manner
  7. Process medical insurance information, verify patient eligibility, and address patient questions about insurance
  8. Handle cash and co-payments accurately and responsibly
  9. Provide outstanding customer service to every patient
  10. Inform site manager or assistant site manager of waiting room wait times, patient inquiries, etc.
Qualifications
  • A High School Degree or GED
  • A happy, welcoming, and can-do attitude with patients and coworkers
  • Experience working in a high-volume/high-intensity service industry (e.g., hospitality, restaurant, hospital, medical office, or retail environment) preferred
  • Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills
  • Detail-oriented and a team player
  • Computer proficiency and superior keyboarding skills (approximately 55 wpm)
  • Flexible and adaptable nature to work in a continuously evolving environment
  • Passion for helping others in a healthcare environment
  • Ability to effectively interact with physicians, patients, and other staff members
  • Bilingual language skills required or preferred based on site location
Physical Requirements

Ability to sit and stand for periods of time. Heavy computer use required.

The provided compensation range is based on industry standards and salary determinations will be made based on numerous factors, including but not limited to, years of experience and location of position.
