R&D Product Development Manager

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced R&D Product Development Manager to join our team at GCR Professional Services. As a key member of our research and development team, you will be responsible for leading and managing a team of scientists and engineers to execute research and development projects from conception to commercialization.

- Develop and implement research strategies aligned with business goals, ensuring timely delivery of high-quality results.
- Collaborate cross-functionally with production, marketing, and quality control teams to integrate R&D findings into processes and product development.
- Stay up to date on industry trends, technological advancements, and regulatory requirements to guide R&D initiatives.
- Manage R&D budgets, allocate resources efficiently, and optimize project timelines for maximum productivity.
- Report research and development results to internal and external stakeholders.
- Foster a culture of innovation, creativity, and continuous improvement within the R&D team.
- Represent the company in industry conferences, contributing to thought leadership.
- Oversee the daily workflow of the team.
- Participate in the hiring process, train, and mentor new team members.
- Review and approve training requests, timecards, and expense reports.
- Provide constructive and timely performance conversations.
- Manage employee success by setting clear expectations, providing continuous feedback, supporting professional development, and creating an environment of psychological safety and intentional inclusion.
- Participate in continuous coaching development.
- Communicate and coordinate alignment with other teams.
- Implement the goals set by leadership and accomplish key corporate objectives.
- Direct, supervise, and coordinate personnel and facilities to accomplish the group's functions; set goals for the group and other business units; and plan the use of materials and resources for the efficient accomplishment of group functions.
- Formulate and administer policies and procedures that have a company-wide impact and/or significant impact on the company's bottom line.
- Forecast and submit budget requirements and monitor and report on financial performance against budget.
- Develop intermediate-range plans with a one- to three-year timeline designed to develop concrete and specific means to implement the strategic plan.
We are looking for candidates with a Bachelor's degree in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, or a related field and 10+ years of R&D experience, or a Master's or Ph.D. in Chemical Engineering, Chemistry, or a related field and 6+ years of R&D experience. Minimum 2 years of team leadership or management experience is preferred. Product development in materials, electronics, hardware, sensors, or similar areas is strongly preferred. An equivalent combination of education and experience is also acceptable.
