Non-Commercial Sales Specialist (Food Broker)

Location: Remote

We are in search of a driven and results-focused individual to fill the role of Non-Commercial Food Sales Specialist.

The selected candidate will work closely with our Market Director and should possess experience in various sales disciplines, including business development, account management, and client relationship management. A consultative selling approach is essential for influencing non-commercial clients effectively.

This role involves crafting and implementing a tailored business strategy for designated accounts. The ideal candidate will demonstrate a strong ability to self-educate and take initiative with minimal supervision. Success in this position is measured by the growth of the non-commercial portfolio within the assigned market area.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Influence key decision-makers without direct authority.
  • Build and maintain relationships with food-service directors and culinary professionals as a trusted advisor.
  • Maintain comprehensive knowledge of key distributors in the assigned market.
  • Provide regular CRM sales reports and updates to manufacturers as required.
  • Manage food and beverage samples in the designated office.
  • Develop a strategic market approach to facilitate regular visits to key accounts.
  • Prepare food products and design menu combinations as needed.
Qualifications:
  • 3-5 years of experience in food service brokerage, operations management, or with a national manufacturer.
  • A collaborative mindset with a genuine desire to assist others.
  • Ability to work effectively with diverse teams and a commitment to continuous learning.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, SharePoint), CRM systems, and familiarity with cloud-based SaaS tools.
  • A confident leader with strong interpersonal skills and a solid work ethic.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Associate or bachelor's degree.
  • Experience with CRM systems.

Work Environment:
  • Travel Requirements: Daily travel to assigned locations is necessary. A valid driver's license and a clean driving record are required.
  • Typical work schedule: Monday through Friday.
  • Ability to stand for extended periods and lift items weighing up to 50 lbs during trade shows.
  • Frequent travel to various sites, including occasional overnight trips.
