Role Summary: Are you dedicated to helping individuals achieve financial independence? As the Program Manager for Financial Empowerment, you will be instrumental in assisting low-to-moderate income individuals in accessing fair-interest vehicle loans, enhancing their financial security, and promoting self-sufficiency. You will act as the local authority, guiding participants through the lending process, offering continuous financial coaching, and linking them with essential community resources. If you are motivated by community impact and excel at relationship-building, this position is ideal for you.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Building Relationships: Establish strong, trusting connections with program participants through consistent, empathetic financial coaching and case management from initial screening to loan completion.
  • Community Involvement: Engage actively in community events and collaborate with local organizations to raise awareness of the program, driving participant referrals and enhancing the program's reach.
  • Participant Guidance: Clearly articulate the program to potential participants, assist them in navigating the application and vehicle selection processes, and provide support to those who are not yet loan-ready to prepare them for future opportunities.
  • Ensuring Participant Success: Collaborate closely with the Loan Team to assist participants in managing their loans, addressing crises, and overcoming challenges, thereby ensuring high rates of loan repayment and credit score enhancement.
  • Educational Initiatives: Conduct educational workshops within the community, providing participants with valuable insights into vehicle ownership, financial literacy, and other critical topics. Partner with community organizations to invite guest speakers and build a resource network.
  • Outcome Tracking: Accurately document participant progress and success stories using appropriate software, contributing to program data and aiding in securing ongoing funding and support.
  • Team Collaboration: Work effectively within the statewide team to align on objectives, share best practices, and contribute to the overall success of the program.

Career Advancement:

  • This position offers significant growth potential within the fields of social work and financial coaching. Starting as a Program Manager for Financial Empowerment, you will gain hands-on experience in case management, financial education, and community outreach, paving the way for advanced roles in program management, financial counseling, or community development. HumanKind values professional growth and provides opportunities for further training and leadership development.

Qualifications:

  • Compassion and Expertise: A strong background in social work or a related field, with a minimum of 3 years of experience working with low-to-moderate income individuals. Your ability to provide non-judgmental, culturally sensitive support will be crucial in building trust with participants.
  • Community Insight: As a knowledgeable resource in your local community, you understand the unique needs, strengths, and available resources, enabling you to connect participants with appropriate support networks.
  • Financial Coaching Proficiency: Experience in financial coaching, goal setting, and crisis intervention will empower participants to take charge of their financial futures.
  • Effective Communication: Strong verbal and written communication skills, capable of engaging diverse audiences and collaborating effectively with the statewide team.
  • Organizational Skills: A self-starter who can manage multiple projects, deadlines, and responsibilities while maintaining accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Commitment to Impact: Driven by a passion for helping others achieve their goals and improve their lives, your dedication to this mission will be reflected in the program's success and the lives you touch.
  • Bachelor's degree in Social Work or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education, relevant work experience, and lived experience.
