Key Responsibilities:
- Business Partnering: Collaborate with line management to implement work system improvements that drive business profitability and enhance employee engagement.
- Leadership Development and Engagement: Educate, coach, and counsel employees on job performance, employee development, and diversity to foster a culture of inclusivity and teamwork.
- Work Systems: Identify training and education needs and develop cost-effective delivery systems to meet those needs.
- Policy and Compliance: Educate and coach line management on company policies, work rules, and applicable federal and state regulations to ensure fair and consistent delivery of HR products and services.
- Communication: Promote and participate in the planning and implementation of communication strategies that deliver accurate, consistent, and timely information on business issues and employee concerns.
- Research and Development: Research and introduce HR best practice concepts to ensure the organization is utilizing leading-edge HR technology and proactively considering new strategies.
- Labor Relations: Represent management in labor relations, including interpretation, administration, and negotiation support of collective bargaining agreements.
- Change Management: Serve as a champion for change management systems to be used in supply chain systems implementation and drive the continued development of a reliability culture.
- Reporting and Presentations: Present to the department periodically and at the end of the internship.
Requirements:
- Education: Currently pursuing a bachelor's degree in Human Resources or Business.
- GPA: GPA in major greater or equal to 2.5.
- Background Check: Pass an alcohol/drug screen before each co-op session.
- Skills: Ability to be a self-starter, be self-directed, and take initiative to move forward with ideas; must be able to work with and influence others.
- Technical Skills: Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint, Project).
- Communication Skills: Ability to effectively communicate orally, both in person and by telephone.
- Teamwork: Ability to effectively work well with others.
- Emergency Response: Ability to respond to emergency situations in a timely manner.
- Software Skills: Ability to learn CLW software systems such as UKG Pro and UKG WFM time management.
- Physical Demands: Sitting or standing for extended periods of time up to 8-hours, walking for extended periods of time throughout various mill departments, occasional lifting up to 20 lbs, reading computer screen or other electronic devices, use of various office hand and electrical tools or equipment.
