The Senior Director Marketing Communications will lead a team responsible for public relations, corporate communications, executive communications, and employee communications on a global scale.

The main focus is on shaping and delivering the company narrative across all external and internal communications channels, with a strong emphasis on developing cohesive and compelling messaging to drive brand awareness and thought leadership goals for 2024.

The role involves working closely with marketing leadership and executives to set high-level communication strategies, create compelling external communications content, develop differentiated messaging, and lead storytelling and messaging efforts across global and local teams.

Key skills needed for success include exceptional written and verbal communication skills, crisis communication experience, strong critical thinking and writing skills, strategic thinking, leadership abilities, and cultural sensitivity.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead a team responsible for public relations, corporate communications, executive communications, and employee communications on a global scale
  • Develop cohesive and compelling messaging to deliver against brand awareness and thought leadership goals for 2024
  • Build and drive strategic voice and communications for senior Contentful executives with a focus on external media
  • Drive a foundational and predictable approach for internal communications leveraging internal survey data and research
  • Set high-level communications strategies for external communication plans and internal communications strategies
  • Create differentiated messaging that supports focus areas and key themes
  • Lead and inspire a diverse team of communication and marketing professionals, providing mentorship and fostering a collaborative work environment
  • Develop and execute media relations programs to secure positive coverage and manage relationships with reporters and industry influencers
  • Lead the content strategy for employee forums and presentations, including company kick-off and town halls
  • Develop and implement crisis communication plans, providing timely and transparent communication during challenging situations
